About length. How long should a good posting be? And what about the comments on the posting? As long? Longer? Shorter? A 1500-word posting, while long by typical blog standards, is anemic by literary standards. But it will do for us--start out trying to get somewhere between 1000-1500 words for each posting. And your comments? They should be shorter, much shorter, but they should clearly deliver your opinion of the posting. And of course I'd ask that you not post anonymously--they're your opinions so you ought to own up to them, right?
And what should a posting look like, by which I mean, what kinds of questions should it ask, what kinds of observations should it offer, what kinds of conclusions should it reach? All good questions, all difficult to answer. I want your reader to be left with a sense of the poetry's scope, reach, depth, and relevance to your life in our new millennium. That's all. I'll give you an example--something I wrote about one of Shakespeare's sonnets. It's too long for this project, but it will still give you a sense of one way of proceeding.
